Driving stuff from Blues Image – the fairly short-lived, Latin-tinged 60s stoner rockers that are scarcely remembered but for the lone big hit "Ride Captain Ride", one of the finest rock singles of the era. That tune, with it's mellow mid tempo organ groove and big catchy chorus is a bit uncharacteristic of the group's overall sound. Blues Image as a whole is much more indebted to Cream – with really heavy riffing and tight propulsive drums and percussion that make them a nicely dirgy answer to others in the sunshine scene. Hazy rock fans of today can have their Queens Of The Stone Age, and all the rest. We'll take the real thing. Thanks again, Sundazed, for rescuing a long lost, worthy slab of 60s rock! "Love Is The Answer", "Running The Water", "Clean Love", "La Bamba", "Consuelate", "Ride Captain Ride", "Pay My Dues" and more.  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.
