Soul Food/Booma Woman
7-inch (Item 602695) Soundway (UK), Early 70s — Condition: New Copy
A funky treasure! "Soul Food" is a heavy funk jam from Booma Rockers – a group put together in London by Guyanan producer/songwriter Terry Nelson, aka Omar Farouk – and also features Ghanaian sax player and singer Teddy Osei, later to join Osibisa. "Soul Food" is just incredible – with walloping drums, sweetened by the guitar groove and the the most infectious funky horns we've heard in a while! The flip side of this great 45 on Soundway was also penned by Terry Nelson – and features singer Jean Manix. "Booma Woman" is a playful kinda reggae funk tune with some nice flute in the mix, and another killer guitar groove! (Limited to 1000 copies. Includes code for download.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
