Rare Ethiopian material from the early 70s – ostensibly a set of wedding-related tracks, but with grooves that are every bit as great as classics in the Ethiopiques series! The songs are traditional, but given some great golden age arrangements by Getachew Degefu – who swings most of them with romping rhythms that are perfect for the sing-song vocals of Lemma Gebgre Hiwot, Selamawit Gebre Selassie, and Zenebech Tesfaye – most of whom are backed by joyous singers who really send the message home! Titles include "Hay Loga", "Wondemiye", "Yihe New Wey Mizesh", "Indiyaw Yemiru", "Musherit Lemdallech", and "Yebete Zemedu".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.
