Re-Enter
LP (Item 604515) ECM (Germany), 1990 — Condition: New Copy
Great work from one of the better young groups to rise up at ECM at the end of the 80s – a Norwegian quartet with some especially great trumpet work from Nils Petter Molvaer, plus tenor and soprano from Tore Brunborg, bass from Arild Andersen, and drums and percussion from Jon Christensen! Molvaer still has the tendency to atmospherics that's always marked his playing, but works here in a mode that's slightly more forceful, too – almost a more traditional jazz trumpet approach at times, set up in the loose, open swing of the rest of the group. Titles include a few traditional numbers arranged by Andersen – "Lill Lisa" and "Heiemo Gardsjenta" – plus the tunes "There Is No Jungle In Baltimore", "Re-Enter", "Gaia", and "Little Song". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
