Back in the day, Chicago never had much of a rap scene – which is why it was so easy for Chicago radio DJ Casper to score big with this little groover on the AVI label! The cut's actually not bad as sort of a funky clubby track – and Casper's rapping style reminds us a lot of Gary Byrd, another DJ who was cutting similar records at the time. There's kind of a nice jangly "good times" groove going on here, and the track's not a bad little party number!  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

2 of Jean Carn's best tracks for Philly! A seminal bit of soul from a key transitional moment! During most of the mid to late 80s, American soul was losing a lot of its edge, especially in production terms. Then, from out of nowhere, Sybil came and dropped the bomb – a righteous new sound that took a lot of classic elements, and ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
