One of the best later moments from soundtrack giant Alfred Newman – a stunning score for a star-studded disaster film at the start of the 70s! Newman's still got some of his older sense of orchestration here, but also gets a bit leaner for the modern age too – bringing in some groovier elements to fit different characters and themes in the film – and nicely balancing out the dramatic elements with some lighter touches too. Tracks include the famous "Airport Love Theme", plus "Inez Theme", "Ada Quonsett Stowaway", "Mel & Tanya", "Triangle", "Inez Lost Forever", and "Emergency Landing". (Original pressing. Cover has a cutout hole.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Decca, 1955. Very Good-
One of the greatest jazz soundtracks of all time! Elmer Bernstein wrote the score to Otto Preminger's chilling film version of Nelson Algren's book The Man With The Golden Arm – a sad tale of jazz, gambling, and heroin addiction on the streets of Chicago (not far from Dusty Groove, in fact!) ... Great stuff! This is the "alternate" version of Michel Legrand's great score to Les Demoiselles De Rochefort – and it's totally great all the way through! The whole thing's nice and jazzy, totally swinging, and has a groove that you don't get in some of Legrand's other work. We've ... LP, Vinyl record album

A work of true genius – and one of Hefti's most amazing soundtracks ever! Barefoot In The Park was written shortly before The Odd Couple – also for a Neal Simon film – and it's got a similar style of grooving to that more famous soundtrack, with two melodies working their way in ... Hard to find a stronger early album by Sly – as this one has him still funking hard, but also getting his soul bag together a bit more, hitting some really righteous vibes that mix together politics and partying in an incredibly seductive way.
