CD (Item 472537) Show Up (Germany), Mid 70s — Condition: New Copy

Rare tracks in a world of already-rare music – a collection of funky numbers from the Themes International sound library – none of which have ever been released commercially before! The package is a great addition to the realm of sound library funk – and although the names here are familiar from their work for other labels, the tracks are all plenty darn fresh – often a fair bit electric, in keeping with the mid 70s vintage of the music! There's loads of funky beats, bumping basslines, and sweet keyboards lines on most of the cuts – and overall, the work here reminds us of some of the best funk from mid 70s Italian police films, or American cop shows from the same time. CD package features some great notes, as well as original Themes International cover images – and titles include "Flashpoint" and "High Diver" by Alan Hawkshaw, "Flying Squad" by Kenny Salmon, "Soul Train" by Les Hurdle, "Override" by Keith Roberts, "The Observer" by David Lindup, "Soul Slap" by Madeline Bell & Alan Parker, "El Zoro" by Mike Moran, "Sweeney Todd" by Alan Parker, "Get Up & Go" by Kenny Salmon, "Headlights" and "Scenechange 6a" by Alan Tew, "Inside Information" by David Lindup, and "Speed Run" by Alan Hawkshaw. –  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
