GO (RVG remaster edition)
CD (Item 539745) Blue Note, 1962 — Condition: Used
Seminal stuff – and one of Dexter Gordon's excellent Blue Note sessions with pianist Sonny Clark! Sonny's in fine fine form for the record, and in our opinion, he seems to be the most relaxed and inventive when accompanying Dexter Gordon – even over other Blue Note horn players, and that's saying a heck of a lot! Gordon's very much in the pocket on the record too – and doesn't spend too much time soloing around and around, and really goes for the tighter groove laid out by Clark on piano, Butch Warren on bass, and Billy Higgins on drums. Cuts include "Cheese Cake", "Second Balcony Jump", and "Love For Sale". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
