CD (Item 29513) Universal (France), Late 40s/1950s/1960s/1970s/1980s -- Condition: New Copy
Legendary work by French modernist Pierre Henry -- and the second chapter in Universal's masterful attempt to finally give his great work a proper showcase! The set includes 4 CDs that offer 4 different slices of Henry's work. CD 1 features the groundbreaking 1950 "Symphonie Pour Un Homme Seul", plus the landmark "Le Voyage", an early electronic work from 1962 that's still one of Henry's best recordings. CD 2 features "Mouvement-Rhythme-Etude", from 1970, a work made up of many spare passages with lots of spooky electronics and cool modulation. CD 3 features "Le Livre Des Morts Egyptien", which has an incredible array of sounds -- from low bubbling sub-tones, to strange and jangly electro-acoustic ones that possess strange organic properties.
