Georges Delerue Dirige La Musique De Maurice Jaubert

CD (Item 598042) Disques Cinemusique (Canada), 1986 — Condition: New Copy

Georges Delerue pays tribute to a key inspiration – soundtrack composer Maurice Jaubert, who's featured here in a selection of tracks from films of the 30s! This larger orchestral recording offers a key glimpse to the roots of Delerue's famous style – as his re-presentation of Jaubert's older music tightly draws a stylistic band between the decades – kind of the core melodic moments that Maurice put forth in pre-war films, fleshed out by Georges with greater orchestral depth. The presentation is quite striking – and very much on par with Delerue's own best soundtrack recordings of the 70s and 80s. Music is performed by the Orchestre Symphonique De Madrid, directed by Delerue – and the CD features compositions from the films Le Jour Se Leve, L'Atlante, Le Petit Chaperon Rouge, Un Carnet De Bal, and Le Quai Des Brumes.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
