Kenny Burrell At The Five Spot Cafe (with bonus tracks)
CD (Item 497417) Blue Note, 1959 — Condition: Used
One of the best Kenny Burrell albums ever! Kenny's in fine form in this rare live set, recorded in 1959 at the Five Spot with a group that includes the legendary Tina Brooks on tenor, plus Bobby Timmons or Roland Hanna on piano, Ben Tucker on bass, and Art Blakey on drums. The band is more firey than some of Kenny's other recordings – and that seems to drive him onto harder solos than usual, as you'll hear on tracks like "Birk's Works", "36-23-36", and "Hallelujah". Nice stuff! (Out of print.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
