LP (Item 425088) Deja Vu (Italy), Early 70s — Condition: New Copy

A rare bossa gem from Italy – played by guitarist Giulio Camarca with bits of percussion, added guitar, and some scatting vocals – all in a groove that's a lot fuller than you might expect! The sound here is never sleepy – and instead of being one of those quiet, introspective acoustic guitar sessions, the record steps along with a great sense of energy – one that makes all tracks come across with a soaring jazzy edge, despite the sparer quality of the instrumentation. Giulio's work on guitar is very dynamic – really creating a lot of energy and rhythm, even when soloing – and the additional rhythm guitar further enforces this groove, and sounds especially great when the female members of the quartet sing along on the chorus! Titles include the massive 2-part "Trans Amazonica" suite – plus "Birimbao", "Jalma", "Manha", "Samba Do Amigo", "Saudade Do Rio", and "Gujamara".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
