Unison
CD (Item 604952) Cecma (Italy), 1982 — Condition: New Copy
Wonderfully interwoven sounds from John Lindberg and Marty Erlich – two players who'd worked together on the east coast scene, especially in the company of Anthony Braxton – but who really hit a new level of creativity here! Marty's reeds have a crisp, youthful sense of exploration throughout – great energy, especially on alto and soprano sax – although his bass clarinet and flute work is pretty nice too. And Lindberg's bass has these warm, rolling tones that are nice and soulful – and really help ground the freer reed expressions. Titles include "Mellow T", "Sound Stories", and "Variations On A Theme By Charles Mingus". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
