80s club through and through – easily one of the most dancefloor-oriented volumes of this excellent series! The tracks here are heavy on rhythms that run from midtempo to more upbeat – often with drum parts and basslines that are somewhat bold, yet never get in the way of the sweeter vocals over the top. Most of the singers here are female, and the tunes are a great example of the new rhythms hitting the dancefloor in the post-disco years – styles that are still plenty funky, and very grooving, but in a different way than before!
