CD (Item 587293) BGO (UK), Late 60s/Early 70s — Condition: New Copy

A long overdue compilation of tracks by late 60s/early 70s Philly combo The Showstoppers! The group roared out of the gate with the great "It Ain't Nothing But A Houseparty" in '68 – a driving dancefloor soul treasure that made waves at the time, particularly on the UK charts – a killer track with in unshakable rhythm and great lead and harmony vocals from the group. In the next few years, the group put out some more strong singles, but nothing hit as big. This solid compilation on BGO UK collects those numbers and their B-Sides – some in a similar mode as their hit, and others that have a bit of grittier feel with guitars louder n the mix, and others with piano out front – but all have those great group vocals. We with these guys busted out bigger for a more sustained period – there's plenty to love on this sweet little Best Of! Includes "Ain't Nothing But A House Party", "Reach In The Goody Bag", "Don't Leave Me Standing In The Pouring Rain", "How Do You Feel", "Shake Your Mini", "Heartbreaker", "Just A Litlle Bit Of Lovin'" and more. 12 tracks in all.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
