Le Cinema De Michel Polnareff
CD (Item 474158) Universal (France), Late 60s/Early 70s — Condition: New Copy
Surprisingly wonderful film music from Michel Polnareff – a singer we know best for his sexy French pop of the late 60s! Polnareff's got a surprisingly thoughtful ear when it comes to scoring a movie – a way of changing things a lot from his usual approach to vocal music, yet still knowing when to throw in some of the sly, slinky lines we always love so much when he's singing – often gentle grooves that are right up there with some of Serge Gainsbourg's best sounds of the time! There's some moments here that are subtle, and others that reflect a bit of historical elements too in keeping with the plots of the films – and that mix makes for a set that's about half styles that are somewhere in the Polnareff pop mode, and half that really stretch out into new territory – offering us a look at his music we never expected. The package features detailed notes in French and English – and features batches of music from the films Ca N'Arrive Q'Aux Autres, Erotissimo, La Folie Des Grandeurs, Three Musketeers, Lipstick, and La Vengeance Du Serpente A Plumes – plus two bonus tracks too. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
