A wonderful wonderful soundtrack – recorded to accompany the strange horror/soap opera show Dark Shadows! The music is really weird – moogy at times, groovy at others – with lots of cool late 60s touches like fuzzy guitar, electric piano, and floating string and woodwind passages that have a really dark edge. Many of the tracks feature narration by stars Jonathan Frid and David Selby – creating a spooky sort of ghost story feel. And some of the even better tunes are instrumentals, with surprisingly groovy guitar in the front – creating an almost Ventures-like horror sound! Titles include "No 1 At The Blue Whale", "When I Am Dead", "Meditations", "I'll Be With You Always", "Josette's Theme", "Dark Shadows 2 Collinwood", "Shadows Of Night", "Séance", and "I Barnabas". Decca, 1955. Very Good-
One of the greatest jazz soundtracks of all time! Elmer Bernstein wrote the score to Otto Preminger's chilling film version of Nelson Algren's book The Man With The Golden Arm – a sad tale of jazz, gambling, and heroin addiction on the streets of Chicago (not far from Dusty Groove, in fact!) ... Great stuff! This is the "alternate" version of Michel Legrand's great score to Les Demoiselles De Rochefort – and it's totally great all the way through! The whole thing's nice and jazzy, totally swinging, and has a groove that you don't get in some of Legrand's other work. We've ... LP, Vinyl record album

Bell, Late 60s. Sealed
A wild soundtrack by Quincy Jones – for this disturbing comedy that starred Walter Matthau, Goldie Hawn, and Ingrid Bergman. The theme, "The Time For Love Is Anytime", is a sad boozy number with vocals by Sarah Vaughan, and arrangements by Jimmy Haskell – but there's also a ... LP, Vinyl record album
