A wonderful wonderful soundtrack – recorded to accompany the strange horror/soap opera show Dark Shadows! The music is really weird – moogy at times, groovy at others – with lots of cool late 60s touches like fuzzy guitar, electric piano, and floating string and woodwind passages that have a really dark edge. Many of the tracks feature narration by stars Jonathan Frid and David Selby – creating a spooky sort of ghost story feel. And some of the even better tunes are instrumentals, with surprisingly groovy guitar in the front – creating an almost Ventures-like horror sound! Titles include "No 1 At The Blue Whale", "When I Am Dead", "Meditations", "I'll Be With You Always", "Josette's Theme", "Dark Shadows 2 Collinwood", "Shadows Of Night", "Séance", and "I Barnabas". A killer soundtrack from jazzy Johnny Keating – a set that we'd rank right up there with his other non-film work of the 60s!
