Jacques Offenbach In Paris

LP (Item 13740) MPS, 1973 — Condition: Used

LP, Vinyl record album

4.50 5

Slightly funky, slightly classical, and very very groovy. This hip German pianist plays a lot of Offenbach "impressions" over arrangements by Mladan Gutesha, with titles like "The Red Lights of Paris", "Sailing On The Seine", "Little Racer", and "Running Away". Very Frenchy, but with some nice MPS touches. (US pressing. Cover has a cutout hole, tape on the spine, and light wear.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Bossa Nova
Argo, 1962. Near Mint-
One of the most unique albums from Ramsey Lewis' early years at Chess Records – a spare set of bossa groovers that has the Lewis trio with Eldee Young and Redd Holt augmented by added Brazilian percussion and guitar! The sound is spare, sharp, and soulful – and the record's one of the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Coldwater Flat
Blue Note, Late 60s. Very Good Gatefold
A brilliant pairing of the Three Sounds trio with the larger arrangements of reedman Oliver Nelson – easily one of the most soulful bandleaders of the 60s, and a talent who really helps open up the trio's groove! The piano of Gene Harris is nice and sharp – played with a soulful sock ... LP, Vinyl record album
