CD (Item 523295) Casablanca/Gold Legion, 1979 — Condition: New Copy

A standout set of crossover disco from Paul Jabara – an artist who's probably best known for his work with Donna Summer and Barbara Streisand, but also a pretty great disco maestro on his own! This Casablanca classic is possibly Jabara's most fully-formed record for the label – a session of longform tracks that goes beyond the usual mode you'd find on Casablanca – given Jabara's good ear for pacing a song, and his sensitive approach to the music – which comes across here in the way that some of the tracks nicely balance ballad moments with more uptempo rhythms! Donna Summer's on vocals, and the tracks have plenty of great keyboards from Greg Mathieson, who handled the arrangements. Titles include the extended "Disco Wedding/Honeymoon In Puerto Rico/Disco Divorce", "Foggy Day/Never Lose Your Sense Of Humor", and "Just You & Me".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
