Step Three

Add Item to Want List
LP (Item 609597) Afrodesia/Hot Casa (France), 1975 — Condition: New Copy

A smoking step three from Blo – exactly the kind of album that's made these guys a legend over the years! The set's got a perfect blend of Afro Funk and some of the more out-there energy floating around the African scene of the time – that darker vibe that comes from Afro sounds making their way up to London and Paris, picking up new influences, and returning some great elements to the homeland! You can definitely hear this in the way that Blo use their guitar and keyboards – wickedly sharp, without some of the sunnier tones of their contemporaries – and the way they focus their rhythms strongly with a dose of American funk as well. Lyrics are all in English, and just about every tune on the set's a mo-fo – the kind you'll be humming long after your first listen to the album. Titles include "Don't Pull The Form Under Me", "Mind Walk", "Rhythm Of Love", "Hypocrisy", "Gotta Get Me A Better Head", and "Hot Chase".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
