CD (Item 593730) Film Score Monthly, 1965/1971 — Condition: New Copy

A pair of lost TV soundtracks – brought back to life beautifully, with the usual high-quality Film Score Monthly production! First up is Nightwatch – a 1965 score by John Williams – penned with lots of tense orchestral passages that really sum up the brooding qualities of the narrative – kind of an extension of early 60s urban soundtrack themes on TV, but taken to an even more sophisticated level that's dripping with drama! The mood changes slightly on Killer By Night – a Quincy Jones score from the start of the 70s, but one that also has a relatively tense feel too – that darker side of the Q's soundtrack mode – although one that still opens up in a few cool funky moments too – which often spring out of more offbeat passages – similar to Quincy's work on Ironsides! CD features 19 tracks from Nightwatch, and 17 more from Killer By Night – and comes with a very lavish full color booklet – filled with notes on both obscure shows, and the rich music within.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
