33 1/3 – James Brown's Live At The Apollo
Book (Item 402846) Continuum, 2005 — Condition: New Copy
Douglas Wolk's take on one of greatest live albums ever made – James Brown's electrifying, game-changing Live At The Apollo – as worthy of an entry in the 33 1/3 series of hip pocket paperback classic album bios as there ever could be! Wolk pretty much brings us into the Apollo that night 1962 – or as close as we could ever hope to get – a great gift, as this is one event we'd trade just about anything to have been able to witness! Wolk has written for The Village Voice, Rolling Stone, The Nation and he's long been one of few voices at Pitchfork to stand out with an independent voice, whether you agree with his opinions or not. It's great to have a really meatier piece of work like from him and he does this album just props. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
