Modern Art Trio
LP (Item 474605) Deja Vu (Italy), 1970 — Condition: New Copy
Killer work from a group who really live up to their name – a sharp-edged piano trio with really far-reaching ideas in their music! The combo features Franco D'Andrea on piano, and the tunes are awash in his angular tones – notes that always seem to have a nice bite to them, but never in ways that are too free or far out – thanks to Franco's inherently lyrical sensibilities. D'Andrea also plays electric piano and soprano sax on the set – and the rest of the trio is equally great, with Bruno Tomasso on bass and Franco Tonani on drums, plus a bit of trumpet. Titles include "Echi", "Beatwiz", "Un Posto All'Ombra", "Frammento", and "URW". (Really amazing reissue – with a very heavy cover and high-quality vinyl!) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
