Lakeside
LP (Item 473295) ABC, 1977 — Condition: Used
Pre-Solar work from Lakeside, and a pretty great album overall – a bit more in an ensemble funk mode than some of the group's later music, but with a sound that's pretty tight overall! Frank Wilson produced and arranged, and there's a nice blend of bass-heavy rhythms and older-style harmony vocals sliding into play – a stepping back and forth quality that informs the grooves nicely, and which makes them come across with a fresher sound than before too much cliche settled into the California scene. Titles include "Shine On", "Taboo", "Miss Look But Don't Touch", "If I Didn't Have You", "IT's Not Only The Outside That Counts", and "Diamond Girl". (Cover has a cut corner and some wear.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
