A sweet late instrumental classic from the 60s glory years at A&M – and a record that's far different than some of the earlier work by the Baja Marimba Band! Sure, the group's still got plenty of their "fake" Mexican sound in place here – obviously they can't drop the "marimba" from their name – but they're also picking up plenty of bossa and breezy rhythms in their backings, and are really changing their sound around to match the grooviest styles of the late 60s instrumental scene! Bits of organ, wordless vocals, and other cool snatches of sound really make for a playful feel in the backings – and there's a number of cuts here that almost feel like they came from groovy late 60s Italian soundtracks – especially in the way they completely rework bossa inspiration for their own ends! Nick DeCaro helped Wechter a bit on some of the arrangements – and titles include "The Windmills Of Your Mind", "Madagascar", "Samba Nuevo", "Here", "Fresh Air", "Wave", and "I'll Marimba You".
