Drums and chants – pretty sparely recorded, as if the record were done somewhere out in the wilds of Africa, but most likely recorded in the wilds of Hollywood! Tracks are of varying length – and the overall sound is pretty nice. Titles include "Miva", "Changoo", "Sabar", "Ndolo", "Sammsamounn", and "Sougnou Mbtaye". Joe Tex bumps with the best of his contemporaries in the 70s – but at a level that still holds onto all the warmth and humanity of his earlier recordings too! There's definitely a bit of a dancefloor groove to the record, but it never dampens the spirit in Joe's vocals – and in a way, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Melting Pot
Stax, 1971. Very Good-
One of the greatest albums ever from Booker T & The MGs – and very different than their early work!
