The film's a very strange comedy starring Shirley MacLaine, and the soundtrack's pretty wild too! Most tracks are groovy 60s tunes with a mix of easy styles, and the album's also got a few nice vocal numbers that space things out nicely – and overall, the soundtrack's a real mix of styles that really keeps things entertaining! Jack Jones sings "The Way That I Live", The Spectrum sing "Let's Live For Love", Shirley sings the main title theme, and The New Vaudeville Band perform "I Think I'm Beginning To Fall In Love". Instrumental tunes include the Hammond-heavy "Rock Bottom", plus "I'd Rather Lead A Band", "Mr Blossom Goes Bust", "The Way That I Live", and "Mexican Merengue". A bomb! The title of this one says it all – a burning anthem of pride and power, issued in 1969, at the end of one of the most troubling decades in America.
