Blowfly On TV

LP, Vinyl record album

4.80 11

Blow Fly's second album – and a hilarious parody of TV! The record features Blow's band playing lots of funky riffs and heavy vamps, while Blow sings songs over the top that are parodies of "Batman", "Sesame Street", "Tom Jones", and "Ed Sullivan" – as well as a few other more obscure TV references. The whole thing brings a whole new dimension to the word "funky" – and of course, it's designed for mature audiences only! (Original pressing. Cover has some seam splitting.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Chocolate City, 1977. Very Good+
Sublime second generation soul from Brenda & The Tabulations – a sweet set of Philly grooves, recorded at Sigma sound with help from Norman Harris, Bobby Eli, and John Davis! The album's every bit as groove-heavy as you'd expect from work by those dancefloor heavyweights – and the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Ask Rufus
ABC, 1977. Near Mint- Gatefold
A stone cold classic, and probably the best record Rufus or Chaka ever did! By this point, they've honed their soul style into a nice jazzy groove, and Chaka's voice is in total control – without too much pyrotechnics, and with a nice mellow sound. Includes the classic hit "Hollywood&qu ... LP, Vinyl record album
