Brilliant sounds from bassist Ingebrigt Haker Flaten – a sublime solo effort that puts him right up there in the same company as legendary bassists like Barre Phillips or Barry Guy! Flaten's amazing here on his own – coming up with shades and tones and rhythms and sounds and so many other great elements all out of a single instrument – really surprising us with the depth and humanity of his performance here – and that's saying a lot, given that we already love his playing in other settings! Ingebrigt more than holds his own throughout the course of the set – effortlessly shifting mood and sentiment over the course of the album's five part title track.
