One of the greatest records ever by Jon Hendricks – one of our favorite male jazz singers of all time! The album's an obscure 70s session that features Jon opening up from earlier days – moving into a bit of soul, a bit of funk, yet still keeping things really strong on the jazz tip. This added range of expression unlocks the depths of Hendricks' really expressive vocal style – a combination of warmth and pyrotechnics, all held together with a raspy tone that makes us hang on every single word. Includes the massive jazz dance track "I'll Bet You Never Thought I'd Find You", a nice take on "Naima", plus "On the Trail", "No More", and a good version of Gil Evans' "Blues for Pablo". (White label promo. Cover has a light stain on the bottom 3 inches.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Smash, Mid 60s. Very Good
Great live set recorded by Jon Hendricks during a time when he was making his home in the artsy community of Sausalito, on the San Francisco Bay. The set's recorded at the town's tiny Trident club, where Jon played for a while on a very regular basis, and the feeling is very relaxed and ... LP, Vinyl record album

A beautiful little album that shows a whole new side of Sinatra! Frank's a bit late on the bossa game – but the record's a wonderfully gentle batch of bossa nova tunes, performed with musical and occasional vocal accompaniment by Jobim, and larger orchestral backings by Claus Ogerman. Excellent work from this smooth Chicago vocal group! The album may well be the best the group ever recorded – and it features some stellar ballad work produced with a nice spacey tone, almost in a Rose Royce mellow mode – by Jerry Butler's Fountain Productions team and by Clarence ... Tamla, 1976. Very Good-
An incredible record – quite possibly our favorite ever by Marvin Gaye! The album is quite unique – written by Leon Ware, and recorded in collaboration with him – done as a "suite" of tracks based on themes of passion, joy, and new love – all of which were very ... LP, Vinyl record album
