Some of the loveliest work we've heard in years from Wagner Tiso – a set that takes us back to the rich feelings of his earliest records, but serves things up in a mature, understated style too! As you'd guess from the title, there's a very cinematic feel to the music – tunes that almost have a soundtrack-like sensitivity, yet which get a South American jazz approach here – with Tiso on piano and accordion, alongside a bit of cello, violin, oboe, bass, and percussion – often used very softly – to shade things in with just the right sort of flavors, but leaving Wagner's piano and accordion out front in most of the instrumentation.
