CD (Item 532522) Inakustik (Germany), 1988 — Condition: New Copy

A 2CD pair of nice sessions from trio of pianist Wolfgang Dauner, sax player Charlie Mariano and Dino Saluzzi on the bandoneon – an uncommon set up for trio instrumentation, which makes each set all the more wonderful! One Night In '88 and Pas De Trois were both recorded in Ludwigsburg, Germany in April of 1988 – the former featuring 4 longer pieces, and the latter has a couple shorter ones. It's beautiful stuff, timeless jazz piano by Dauner – the heavier moments to near classical beauty in other parts. Saluzzi's bandoneon in leading element on much of the material, and Saluzzi gets some great moments to shine, too. One Night In '88 includes "Drachenburg", "Temposa De Ausencia", "Gemma Cara" and "Orpheus". Pas De Trois" includes "Randy", "Plum Island", "Lucas", "Se Va La Murga", "Trans Tanz" and "Y Amo A Su Hermano Hata El Final".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
