A soulful new set from Victor Davies – maybe his best yet! Stop! finds Victor once again handling a good deal of the instrumentation himself – in a style that's more inspired by classic soul and R&B than some of his earlier work, which had a bit more folk soul touches. We loved that stuff, and we love this, too – the songs and Victor's vocals are as great as ever, with warmly percolating percussion, guitars and keys – mostly handled by Davies, with an accompanying horn section on most tunes, plus some additional assistance on drums and Rhodes on a couple. A brilliant set from one of our favorite modern soul voices on the international scene of the past decade or so! Includes "Be Your Man", "Best Thing", "Somebody" "I Want You Back", "Wasting My Time", "Words And A Song", "Stop" and more.
