CD (Item 351795) Collectors Choice, 1967 — Condition: New Copy

Not to be outdone by Capt. Kirk or Mr. Spock, Star Trek's Uhura, aka Nichelle Nichols, put out a fairly successful vocals album of her own in the late 60s, and she had the chops to pull it off, too! Nichelle was actually an accomplished singer before Star Trek made her famous, having toured with Duke Ellington's Orchestra for a time, and she did fairly well on the nightclub circuit her damn self. Despite the nudge-wink title, Nichelle doesn't do any silly top 40 covers or pander to the sci fi fans. She simply handles a batch of standards and ballads, and succeeds quite capably! Tracks include "Feelin' Good", "Tenderly", "Sunday Kind Of Love", "The Lady Is A Tramp", "That's Life", "Home Lovin' Man", "The More I See You" and more, plus previously unreleased bonus tracks "Know What I Mean", "Hey Boy (Hey Girl)", "Why Don't You Do Right" and "It's Impossible".  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
