Avant genius from two different Chicago generations – drummer Jimmy Bennington and trombonist Julian Priester, coming together here in a starkly striking session of work! Bennington produced the record, and it definitely leans more towards his sound overall – but it's great to hear Preister in such company, blowing with these open, freely creative tones that almost take us back to his important lineage in the Sun Ra Arkestra of the early years. Titles include "Dust", "Portraits & Satellites", "In Waltz Time", "Call I", and "Return To Saturn" – plus a special "Re Sun Ra/Julian's Oral History" – which features Priester interviewed by Bennington.  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.
