LP (Item 58743) 7 Bridges, Early/Mid 70s — Condition: New Copy

Heavy funk from the Bay Area scene of the 70s – a selection of previously unreleased tracks that's a treasure trove of hard-hitting groovers! The work on the set is by 3 different artists – Paul T Smith, Electric Church, and Plight – certainly not the more famous names of the scene at the time, but working with bigger talents that include Freddie Hughes, Ray Obiedo, Lonnie Hewitt, Sheila E, and Anthony Davis. The tracks are a heck of a lot rougher than anything we've heard coming out of Oakland, Berkley, or San Francisco at the time – and many numbers have heavy groove that shows the Bay Area as a potential goldmine for fans of the funky 45 sound! Tracks include "We Had A Love", "We've Got To Find A Way", "Down The Line", and "I Can't Dance" by Electric Church; "Newsroom", "Country Flower", "A Good Dream", "Ready To Live Raw Funk", and "Before You Know" by Paul T Smith; and "Soul Duck" by Plight.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
