CD (Item 65046) WEA (UK), Late 60s/1970s — Condition: New Copy

This is the kind of soul music we live for – sweet, rare tracks that never made the charts, but which sound as great as any of the bigger hits from the time! The collection brings together 25 tracks recorded for Atlantic and Warner Brothers during the late 60s and 1970s – many of them done in the same studios, with the same producers and arrangers, as the bigger hits of the time – but with a fresher feel that's kept them in the underground for many years. A few of the numbers on the set are lesser-known tracks by bigger artists, and others are incredible contributions from acts who never got the chance to cut a full LP – stepping forth here with some wonderful smooth soul tunes that rank with our favorite work from the time! The whole thing's great, and titles include "Calling For Your Love" by The Enticers, "You'll Never Be Sorry" by Gerald Sims, "I've Got To Come In" by Jean Battle, "Paint Yourself In The Corner" by The Classic Sullivans, "Without A Doubt" by Major Lance, "Save Your Love For Me" by Vivian Reed, "One On One" by Prince Phillip Mitchell, "Free (I'm Coming Home)" by Cool Sounds, "I Love You" by Terry Collins, "Nice & Easy" by Barbara Lynn, "Let's Get Together" by The Aristocrats, "Fragile Handle With Care" by Sam Dees, and "May Not Be What You Want" by Bobby Sheen.  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
