Perfect Pitch – Tippin The Scales
CD (Item 66812) Spotlite (UK), 1989 — Condition: New Copy
A sweet little session from British alto giant Peter King – one of his strong, and sadly overlooked sessions from the 80s, recorded with a sextet that include Brian Dee on piano and Dick Morrissey on tenor sax! The sound is boppish and hard-swinging, with some nice sharp edges too – of the sort you might know from Morrissey's excellent recordings from a decade or so before this date – proof that, although not recorded in this mode much during the 70s, he'd still really held onto his talents!
