Koln Concert
CD (Item 493082) ECM (Germany), 1975 — Condition: Used
Jarrett's genre defining solo piano recording, one of what would become many, many documents of his improvised solo performances. While the music here is fully improvised, as nearly so as any music can be, it explores a more lyrical and contemplative side of improv than was the current approach to that sort of music at the time. Much maligned as well as lauded, this remains a watershed recording for improvised music in the 70s, and still sits well today. The original recording was divided into four sections to accommodate issue as a double LP, simply entitled "I", "IIa", "IIb" and "IIc". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
