Wasted
LP (Item 557617) Sebastian Speaks, Early 70s — Condition: New Copy
The rare early 70s album by Vernon Wray – brother of rock guitar pioneer Link Wray – here with a hazy, crackling and rustic storyteller mode that's pretty excellent! We haven't heard a lot of Vernon's other recordings, but Wasted is a dusty gem – one that reminds a bit of Lee Hazlewood's wierder 70s recordings, but without nudge-and-wink, ironic approach that Lee dispatched. Titles include "Facing All The Same Tomorrows", "God Is Color Blind", "Tailpipe", "Sycamore Trees", "Faces In The Crowd", "When I Start Drinking" and "Prison Song". (Another really cool reissue on William Tyler's Sebastian Speaks label – with an insert featuring notes by Vernon's daughter, Sherry.) © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
