LP (Item 615685) Orindal, 2012 — Condition: New Copy

The first album from Advance Base – based around the songwriting, vocals, Rhodes and percussion of Owen Ashworth, formerly of Casiotone For The Painfully Alone – warm, unique and rewarding stuff from Chicago musician on his own path! There's a hushed, somewhat brooding quality to the songs and Owen's vocals, some heavy lyrics, but recorded with a light touch. The title of the album seems right. It's largely the product of a singular vision, though it's not mournful or embittered, actually more personally reflective and inspired – as a prayer should be. Recorded with antique drum machines, piano, autoharp, Omnichord, Mellotron samples other other elements, at home and in Chicago's Harold Washington Library. Includes "Summer Music", "New Gospel", "More Trouble", "David Allen", "Riot Girrls", "Goldfish In A Robin's Nest", "Christmas In Oakland" and "My Sisters Birthday" (Includes code for album download.)  © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc.
