Salsa Fever Orchestra
CD (Item 484416) Combo, Late 70s — Condition: New Copy
70s salsa, but with a bit of a nod to the clubs – sort of the same mode the Fania All-Stars were hitting on their Columbia albums of the latter part of the decade, but a bit looser overall! From the cover, you might expect there to be a few Latin Hustle elements on the set – but the record's more salsa than disco, with mostly acoustic instrumentation that features tight percussion driving on a well-crafted horn section that features sax, flute, trumpets, trombone, and even a bit of tuba – which makes for a nice bottom. Vocals are by Lucas Clemente and Dino Guy – and the group's directed by Gunda Merced, who plays some great trombone lines on the record. Titles include "Mulata", "No Hay Vuleta Atras", "Salsa Explosion", "Sabroso", "Aquella Nina", and "Dicen". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
