El Destape
LP (Item 591303) Mass Tropicas/Light In The Attic, 1974 — Condition: New Copy
A great and rare mid 70s cumbia LP from Peruvian combo Grupo 2000 – with floorshaking tropical rhythms to spare – made even more incredible by the guitar work of Tulio Trigoso! It's a pretty remarkable album just for the infectious rhythms and overall energy, but those guitars really do elevate it into a unique realm. The back cover of the LP notes the influence of surf and rock guitars, but Tulio has a sound that's all his own – very much in a Latin tropical mode, and the group's vocals and all around playing is exceptional. A total gem! Includes "La Roonzapa", "Chica Alegre", "El Tinajon", "El Destape A Los 2000", "Sombra Verde", "El Ventisho", "Denishth" and more. © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
