Two instrumental sets from Robert Farnon – back to back on a single CD! My Fair Lady is hipper than you might expect – thanks to work from jazz soloists Shake Keane on flugelhorn, Bob Burns on alto, and Don Lusher on trombone – all of whom really stretch out and open up the larger orchestrations with some playful, soulful voices! The tunes are a mix of tunes from My Fair Lady, plus some other instrumental favorites – swung by Farnon in a mix of larger orchestrations and jazz. Titles include "Black Bottom", "The Best Things In Life Are Free", "Get Me To The Church On Time", "On The Street Where You Live", and "I'm A Dreamer Aren't We All". The Sensuous Strings Of Robert Farnon Features, well, plenty of strings – a lush batch of orchestrations with a rich, dreamy sort of sound – almost more mid 50s mood music than you'd guess from the 60s date of the recording – save for some impeccable studio production that really marks the decade.
