Devil Gives Me Everything Except What I Need (voc, inst)
7-inch (Item 495725) Timmion (Finland), 2009 — Condition: New Copy
Raw funky soul with a old school feel – a cut that sounds like a lost 45 from the late 60s or early 70s – and a killer new track from New Orleans legend Willie West – backed by Finnish funk combo The High Society Brothers! "The Devil Gives Me Everything Except What I Need" is a slow rolling funky soul tune, but it's hardly a downer – starting with spare funk drums before Willie's deeply soulful, just gritty enough vocals come in, telling the tale over a vamping guitar groove, organ, and punctuated by brass. The instrumental is on the flip. A fantastic tune! © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
