A live set from 1980 – and one that shows the Art Ensemble still able to capture some of the warmth and imagination from their early years. Most tracks are fairly long, and the group move through their usual panopoly of instruments along the way. Titles include "Urban Magic", "Sunprecondition Two", "Theme For Sco", "New York Is Full Of Lonely People", and "Ancestral Meditation". (Cover has a cutout notch and some light stains.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Jarrett's genre defining solo piano recording, one of what would become many, many documents of his improvised solo performances. Grazing Dreams
ECM, 1977. Very Good+
Precisely the sort of hippy-jazz that made us ridicule the ECM label for years, but saved by some lyrical contributions from Don Cherry and energetic playing by Dom Um Romao and John Abercrombie. Jazz & Romantic Places
Atlantic, 1955. Very Good-
Jazz in romantic places, but some pretty groovy ones too – a host of global destinations all referenced in the track selection for the set! Dave Pell's tenor is at the lead on most numbers, but the octet's in fine formation too – arranged by Jack Montrose, Marty Paich, Johnny Mandel, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Night Song
Verve, 1968. Very Good
A great title for this one – as the album's got a cool, laidback groove that's very much in a "night song" mode! Arrangements are by Don Sebesky – in that warm and fluid mode he was bringing to some of his best CTI sides at the time – and they push Kenny a bit more than ... LP, Vinyl record album
