Groovy batch of instrumental Latin cuts, with a sound that's a mixture of Latin soul and pop 60's instrumentation. Cugie's usual sound isn't that much in place, but that's ok, because tracks like "Thunderball", "Hang On Sloopy", "Tabasco", and "Soul Sauce" all groove nicely, and in a good 60's pop Latin vein, with nice solo moments by the band. (White label promo. Cover has a spot of tape on the spine and WGN Library letters on the back.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Fantasy, 1958. Near Mint-
One of Cal Tjader's best late 50s dates for Fantasy Records – thanks to some smoking tenor sax from Jose "Chombo" Silva! The album has Cal working in the very comfortable territory of San Francisco's Blackhawk Nightclub – in a combo that also features familiar players Vince ... LP, Vinyl record album
