One of the most starkly beautiful recordings in Paul Horn's career – with spiritually resonant, almost spine tingling solo flute and some chants, all recorded in the Taj Majal one day in April of 1968! It's really all about the atmosphere, as it would have to be given the location – with Horn playing of the amazing echo in a completely wonderful way, never feeling anything less than wholly authentic and genuinely inspired! Titles include "Vibrations", "Akasha", "Jumna", "Shah Jahan", "Mantra II/Duality", and "Unity".  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

A brilliant Japanese-only album from Herbie – quite different than his US work at the time! Although the Herbie in America in 1981 was very heavily involved in electric keyboard work and more R&B-oriented styles of expression – this Japanese-recorded Herbie's an all-acoustic one, ... CD

CTI/Wounded Bird, 1976. New Copy
Really wonderful work from Hubert Laws – maybe one of his greatest albums for CTI! The record has a laidback feel that's similar to most of Laws' other work for the label, but somehow the live setting also brings out a bit more edge – and gives the record a gently funky groove that's ... CD

South American Cookin'
Epic (Japan), 1961. New Copy
Not Curtis Fuller in South America, but a record that picks up a very slight Latin vibe in the rhythm – which makes for a nice change from Fuller's sessions for Blue Note! The date was recorded during that great short run of soul jazz cookers on early 60s Epic Records – and is a ... CD
