Samba Gaye
CD (Item 593726) Dakar Sound (Netherlands), 1997 — Condition: New Copy
An overlooked recording from this famous pair – originally done for businessman Samba Gaye, and quite different than some of the other Afro-styled music of the time! The groove is often a bit more laidback – not as aimed at the dancefloor, although still relatively upbeat and positive overall – thanks to Sekou's sparkling work on guitar, and the lovely vocals of Djanka, which are recorded in a way that layers them nicely alongside the instrumentation. Titles include "N'Gnife", "Imadou N'Na", "Samba Gaye", "Diougouya", and "Tounka". © 1996-2013, Dusty Groove, Inc. | |||||
