A pretty basic soundtrack, but with some nice moments by Ortolani – done around the time he recorded the more famous soundtrack for Mondo Cane. The album does have some nice tunes with weird jazzy instrumentation – kind of nightclubby numbers with a mix of jazz and loungey styles – and solos on sax or piano, with some occasional bongo lines - almost like jazzy moments in Nino Rota scores. Titles include "He Or She?", "The Rites Of Sex", "Twist 84", "The Glutton", "The Steam Bath", "At The Shrine", and "The Debutantes". (White label promo. Cover has a promo sticker, edge wear, a spot of tape on the spine, and WGN Library letters on the back.)  © 1996-2014, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Warner, 1968. Very Good+
A pretty compelling John Barry score – written for this strange semi-comedy which starred George C Scott and Julie Christie, and which was directed by Richard Lester. Last Summer
Warner, Late 60s. Very Good+
A weird little soundtrack – composed and performed by John Simon, and mostly in a fake rock group mode, ala some of the Tower Records soundtracks of the same time. The instrumental "Last Summer Theme" is a nice one – with some spare electric harpsichord over sweet strings ... LP, Vinyl record album
Man From UNCLE
RCA, 1965. Very Good
An amazing little soundtrack that's almost better than the show for which it was written! The set's a landmark batch of work from Hugo Montenegro – working here in a jazzy style that has lots of 60s mod touches – traces of spy soundtrack influence, but a bit more straight ahead too ...
